Drag nights are on at the Yas Marina Circuit’s drag racing track. Question is, will we see you there?
Whether on a winding circuit several kilometres long or a small flat strip not spanning even a kilometre in length, racing is still racing. It is still tremendous fun, and drag racing requires a lot of skills and talent that an ordinary driver would not possess. Drag racing has evolved and changed its format over the years. It is said to have originated in the US, but today, it is played all over the world. A testament to drag racing’s popularity is the Yas Marina Circuit’s drag racing strip, which is frequented by drag racers from all over the country. Put the pedal to the metal tonight! It’s a sultry night, and everywhere around you, people are tuning to their favourite TV shows or turning in for the night with a good movie or book. But you’re made of different fibre altogether: you’re out to race at the Yas Marina Circuit. And it’s no ordinary race either – you’re about to participate in the Yas Drag Racing Nights, an exciting night time edition of drag racing that is held at the venue’s NHRA drag racing strip. At these drag nights, you get to do a practice test first, to warm up the tires and get the engine tuned to the demands of the track. When you’re given the all clear to race (provided you’ve undergone safety instruction training and light tracking), you can go ahead and race to your heart’s content. Plus, you can bring your car so that you’re super comfortable and confident about racing. There’s no reason to stay out of the fun if you don’t have your car – get the superb Mercedes AMG E63 at the venue and get going! What to expect? The Yas Drag Nights make you test your skills and mettle all the way to the finish line. It’s not a drag night race for the fainthearted – set your times, test your limits and race against other drivers as skilled as or even more skilled than you. Every time you race here, you learn new things in drag racing and experience greater thrills than your last race! You can race both cars and bikes on the drag nights. Get with the Yas Marina Drag Roll Racing, a format in which you start slow (speed up to 20 km/hr) then accelerate on reaching the first gate (reaching speeds up to 60 km/hr). Once the lights turn green, the race begins in earnest with another car or bike alongside. The Yas Drag Nights also time and monitors your progress so you can see how well you’ve done. So, what are you waiting for? Register for the drag night racing at Yas Drag Racing Nights – slots are limited, and tickets are flying fast – and put yourself to the test tonight!
